Multinational company backs Forest Force green clean up team

Bolderwood car park, Hampshire

125 executives from Danone planting 125 new ash trees to launch Forest Force, a team of khaki-clad volunteers to keep the New Forest clean.

Forest Force Danone Team Planting for the future

A force to sweep through the New Forest wiping out blots on the landscape, keeping the national park spick and span for everyone!

Executives from multinational food company Danone spent a couple of hours in Bolderwood on tidying, litter picking and planting 125 new trees.

They marked the launch of Forest Force – a voluntary team of khaki-clad eco-protectors who targeted fly-tippers, speeding cars, litter louts, dumped cars and anything else that blighted the enjoyment of the forest for everyone.

The launch featured 125 of the top executives from Danone who held a conference in Bournemouth and were keen to help the Forestry Commission with their work. All 125 executives were kitted out in Forest Force hats and planed a new ash tree each in Bolderwood.

Forest Force is a team of volunteers formed by New Forest District Council, the Forestry Commission and the New Forest National Park Authority to protect the area.

Distinctively kitted out their mission: to get stuck in and stop the grot across the forest. On the look-out for new recruits – so do you have what it takes to join the force?

You’ve been there – out and about, enjoying the New Forest and suddenly you see grot – a dumped car, fly-tipped rubbish or rubble, or general mess and litter spoiling the view, endangering wildlife and generally being a nuisance.

Or perhaps you’re fed up with those unnecessarily impatient and fast drivers who overtake when you’re sticking to 40mph limits.

If you want to look after the New Forest in a hands-on, practical way, get in touch. Some of the work is tough and heavy – you will need to be fairly fit or want to find a way of getting fit. The Forest Force is recruiting for you.

You can do as little or as much as you like – depends where your interests lie. So long as you want to work to look after the New Forest; step up, and feel the Force.
