The Sustainable Business Partnership launched its new Membership Scheme in early November 2011. economi solutions were one of the first to enrol, being in the forefront of sustainability in the UK.
However on Friday 27th January, SBP Chairman Alan Stevens, made this announcement,
"The Board of the Hampshire & the Isle of Wight Sustainable Business Partnership Community Interest Company, (SBP CIC) has reluctantly decided to cease trading with immediate effect. This decision has been taken by the company as a result of the growing financial challenges it has been facing. Our expectation is that we will be able to achieve a solvent winding up of the company’s affairs."
"The SBP CIC was formed with the intention of taking the SBP project out of the public sector and to build its future as a commercially viable community interest company. Unfortunately, current financial conditions have forced the Board to conclude that at the present time this objective cannot viably be achieved."
"We are however initially in discussion with Hampshire County Council to investigate the potential for taking the SBP project forward in the future by some alternative route."

The Sustainable Business Partnership launched its new Membership Scheme in early November 2011. One of the founding members, in fact the very first signatory, was Peter Eales of economi solutions Since then almost 20 businesses had signed and joined as members, from large suppliers like Double H Nurseries and the insurers Towergate, to smaller operations like Romseand Arlesford based Footprint Communications and The University of Winchester Business School.
Peter Eales said: "I am speaking to SBP, Hampshire CC and other key players with a view to continuing the good work. I am sure we can maintain some of the momentum that has been established in the Hampshire and South of England by the nework."
