Skackell Edwards and Druckfarben

Shackell Edwards has been supplying ink to printers ever since 1786.  It is part of the Druckfarben international group specialist manufacturer and supplier of high performance Eco friendly Lithographic offset printing inks, Varnishes, Coatings and Pressroom Chemistry to the commercial printing and packaging sectors.

The MD Grant Penfield is a heavyweight in the industry having sold his majority shareholding in Stehlin Hostag distributor of commercial inks in 2001. Peter Eales advised Grant at Stehlin and now is again involved with the new venture.

Market

The commercial print industry is highly competitive in all countries and subject to radical change. Technolgy such as digital printing and shifts in print runs have had dramatic effects on the industry. The number of printers has decreased and print run lengths increased.

Grant has responded to this by supplying the market with a trusted brand, plus a choice of other top quality ink brands and consumables. Printers can buy from Shackell Edwards Druckfarben Group manufacturing and distribution, an international offer with centuries of experience, technical resource and global distribution.

However it is a highly competitive market.
