The RNID – Royal National Institute for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People
Following training completed by the Learning and Development wing of the business, the HR Director and Head of L&D at RNID asked us to run a ground-breaking project investigating how to install into management positions in the UK more managers and supervisors who are deaf and hard of hearing. This involved contacting large corporate and organisations to ask about sensitive issues and broach ideas to empower the approximately 10 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK. And in particular those capable of management (and there are many) currently disenfranchised due to the disability of poor hearing which does not mean they cannot manage. A project plan including funding proposals and specific actions were agreed with the Head of L&D for the Board.
