PERT Introduction - by John Cornish Managing Director MPI International UK
PERT Introduction download pdf
Summary of what is in the pdf:
Successful Project Managers, Planners and Schedulers start with a PERT Diagram.
- it clearly shows logical dependencies
- essential to see bottlenecks
- easier to understand analyses and control the project
The Gantt view is derived from the PERT Diagram
Gantt views may have their place for simply projects with low numbers of activities.
But their value in clearly showing dependencies reduces significantly as more activities or sub-projects are added.
This leads to logical errors being unwittingly made and poor control of projects
Using a PERT Diagram means the logic is always on show, leading to better communications and more successful projects.
